PUT TOGETHER ALL HAVE THE SAME SIGNS AS COVID-19!!!
I have always been on the high risk category. Flu season, I am at high risk. When I was pregnant with Tatiana my pregnancy was a high risk pregnancy. I don't remember a time in my life where I haven't been considered high risk, at least before my diabetes diagnosis when I was 3 1/2 years old. To be honest I don't remember anything before I was 14 years old.
Well, allergy season is here and when my allergies are really bad my body is not happy. This year they are bad. I have been wearing a mask outside so I can still try to breath. I have congestion, loss of smell, sneezing, congestion, watery eyes, coughing, phlegm, shortness of breath and I am the lucky one where my body decides to have a little fever while my immune system is trying to fight off the seasonal allergens.
When my gastroparesis flares up I become nauseous, my stomach becomes bloated, depending on the day I have diarrhea.
And then my chiari..... I get pain, but not just pain. Now, these are just a couple of my symptoms. I have so many more symptoms, but with my chiari I end up with shortness of breath, coughing, nausea, headaches, sore throat and sinus issues .
So, according to the CDC the symptoms for covid-19 are as follows; fever, tiredness, dry cough, aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat and diarrhea.
Even if I ever had covid-19 my question is how would I know (until it was too late?) Of the symptoms that I have with everything else, every other disease or autoimmune deficiency I have I wouldn't know until I was so sick and it could be to late....
Here is a breakdown for me:
Covid Symptom:
Fever - I have from chiari and allergies
Tiredness - I have from malnutrition from gastroparesis
Dry Cough - I have from chiari and allergies
Aches & Pains - I have from my fibromyalgia and chiari
Nasal Congestion - I have from allergies
Runny Nose - I have from allergies and chiari
Sore Throat - I have from allergies and chiari
Diarrhea - I have from gastroparesis
So, as you can see this is why covid-19 makes me and so many people nervous. There are many people that walk around with allergies, that believe they are just walking around with their allergies (but could actually be walking around with covid-19). Five of the above symptoms can be related to allergies.
So, as the world tries to determine what actually is best for this time frame, I have learned that I have to rely on myself to keep myself safe while in the high risk category. I have fought all of my life with at least one of my diseases, but more recently with all of them ALL at the same time. Now does that mean I'm not worried, heck yes I am. Just because I have had to fight for myself doesn't mean that Eric is used to having to fight because of my health. He is relatively new to having to do what is best for my health at his work, while still walking the fine line of doing what is best for his work and his company.
It's a fine line.... and unless you have someone that is in the autoimmune compromised category, I wouldn't expect you to understand.... I just hope you have empathy and compassion for what we all are going through. Every time my husband comes home after grocery shopping for us and doing our errands, which really is only once every two weeks.... I have to look at my autoimmune (disease) symptoms and truly think to myself, "Is it covid or is it just me?"
Now, please tell me I am not the only one out there that thinks this. Please tell me that people that are "healthy" think this sometimes too?
